Based on a novel by Tadeusz Mikołajek “Żarówka” and directed by Stanisław Jędryka famous for making classic Polish films for children and the youth. The director was involved in co-writing the screenplay.

A story of a young Home Army soldier. Once the war has ended Ryszard has problems with finding himself in the new reality. For purely material reasons he starts to work for the police, yet he still keeps thinking about coming back to the woods. Striving to make up for the lost time he becomes entwined in a number of events, meets new women and unsuccessfully seeks stability. In Ryszard’s new place of work a dangerous fire breaks out and Ryszard, who is not guilty yet willing to help, gets fired. At some point he no longer knows what to do next. He gets rid of his weapon, he feels lonely and lost. He decides to take advantage of he amnesty that has just been announced.

A picture of a young man burdened with wartime experience, torn apart by moral dilemmas, who cannot find his place in a free fatherland rebuild from scratch.
