The psychological portrait of a woman who has to make an important life decision: choosing between financial stability and spontaneous love.

Teresa is an esteemed doctor who has won professional acclaim, she lives in Tri-City. After returning from a scholarship in the USA she takes care of Ania, her younger sister, a gastronomy school student. Teresa meets Jan, an affluent lawyer.  She puts off formally cementing her relationship with him until Ania is fully independent. One day she meets Tomek , a young photographer. They boy immediately falls in love with her. Teresa initially tries not to give in, but is drawn into an intimate relationship. She borrows a car from Jan and drives out of town for a photo shoot with Tomek.  Seeing Ania in bed with a classmate makes her realize her little sister no longer needs to be taken care of. And so, the time has come to make a conscious decision. Finally, exhausted by endless problems with tenants, the woman decides to quit the emotionally charged, passionate relationship with Tomek in favor of a life of stability and affluence with Jan. Teresa and Jan plan to move in together. They visit a jewelry shop. They’re followed by Tomek, who is fascinated by Teresa.
