Maria and Jerzy are a pair of doctors who work in ER. Their relationship is gradually getting worse, Jerzy finally leaves. Maria seeks understating from her family, in vain. She finally finds consolation upon meeting an old friend. A new group of friends and affection shown by Krzysztof help her regain joy of life and stability. Meanwhile Jerzy wants to get back together. Maria agrees. She finds peace and joy spending time with her nephew. They plan a trip to Mazury together.
