Barbara, a woman of Polish descent, lives in Budapest. The feels lonely and unappreciated. She only spends the weekends with her husband. The couple are growing apart. The death of her best friend is a severe blow to her, making her decide to go on a voyage. The arrives in Cracow, strolling down well-known paths, she visits her mother’s grave. By coincidence she meets Marek, an actor from Teatr Stary. Together they leave for Magda’s cousin’s wedding. Marek and Barbara begin to have feelings for each other. After returning to Warsaw, Marek invites her home. There he introduces her to his wife and children. In Cracow, Barbara visits Piwnica pod Baranami and goes to rehearsals at Teatr Stary. She finally says goodbye to Marek confesses she loves him, and then returns to Budapest. When Barbara is changing planes in Budapest, Marek informs Barbara that he will be having another child. The news deepens the woman’s psychological crisis.
