A group of teenagers from a correctional facility commit a series of exchange office robberies. When another robbery leads to the exchange owner’s death, one of the boys – a great safe-cracker Adam Niedzicki “Mruk” does not want to do it anymore, which infuriates the teacher Jóźwiak, who’s in charge of the gang and consequently triggers his conflict with another gang’s leader Anduszewski. Jóźwiak – who, forced to resign – decides to take revenge. Adam gets a three-day-long pass to attend his mother’s funeral. During his trip he falls in love with Magda who has run away from home and whom he coincidentally meets on the way. After his return to the correctional facility “Mruk” finds out that he is wanted in connection with the murder of Andruszewski. He does not trust the police, so he wants to find the murderer on his own, and later escape to Sweden with Magda.
