The driver Bogdan Morawski stands trial, accused of murdering his mistress Anna Barańczyk, whose body was found in his truck. The man pleads innocent, though all the evidence points towards him. He is additionally incriminated by testimonies of witnesses who often bend the truth to protect their own interests. Morawski’s lawyer slowly rebuts some of the accusations, but his client’s situation still looks bad. Meanwhile one of the witnesses, Andrzej Galus, the defendant’s neighbor, starts having an affair with the young court stenographer, Elżbieta. He clearly has some ulterior motive, but when she finds out the truth it’s already too late.
