Have a Good Trip Honey

(Szerokiej drogi kochanie)

1972   >   psychological/ drama

Big-screen debut of then 20-year-old Anna Dymna, today a renowned Polish film star.

The main character is played by Małgorzata Niemirska, the unforgettable Lidka from “Four Tank Men and a Dog”, who very rarely appears on the big screen.

This psychological drama uses the popular motif of a meeting of a few random people who due to an unexpected coincidence have to endure each other’s company. The unusual situation and clash of personalities trigger confrontations between the characters, revealing their secret feelings and passions.

Due to a car breakdown, doctor Jaroń and his mistress Zuzanna are forced to spend the night in the house of engineer Maćkowski together with his alleged foster daughter Gabrysia, a journalist who got there by accident and a young mechanic. As lies and secrets slowly begin to surface, emotions take control of the relations between the characters. Jaroń and Zuzanna’s relationship falls apart. Looking for consolation, the woman starts a casual affair with the attractive mechanic.
