Who Believes in Storks?

(Kto wierzy w bociany)

1971   >   psychological/ drama

A dramatic tale of two 17-year-olds who fall in love for the first time.

Filip comes from a broken family. Lack of interest from his parents causes him to fall in with hooligans and drop out of school. He meets Danka, whose family situation resembles his. The problems they both share create a strong bond between them. The two teenagers try to run away, but Danka’s father and the police find her and take her back home. Filip and Danka are allowed to continue seeing each other on the condition that Filip starts working for Danka’s father. The boy rejects the offer, crashes a car belonging to his mother’s friend and consequently ends up in a youth detention center. He runs away and kidnaps Danka, who in the meantime has started seeing another boy. Despite Filip’s blackmail, Danka leaves him and chooses a normal, stable future.
