Directed by the Polish comedy master – Stanisław Bareja – film director, screenwriter and actor honored with the title of the best Polish comedy director of the century.

The only significant film role of Irena Santor, famous singer and world-renowned artist.

Pola Raksa, known for her role of the legendary Marusia in the series “Czterej pancerni i pies” in the leading role. While singing Raksa is dubbed by Halina Frąckowiak, who, back then, was still a young and not well-known singer.

The screenplay was based on the operetta “Miss Polonia” whose authors Jerzy Jurandot and Marek Sart also belonged to the film’s authors.

A story of an ambitious Polish singer who wants to make a career in Paris even at the expense of sacrificing her feelings to a beloved man.

Beautiful Mariola gets an audience award at the Festival in Opole. The girl believes that the door to a great career is open. Persuaded by an accidentally encountered man she heads off to Paris with him, breaking off the engagement with her fiancé Piotr. In France, Mariola realizes that the impresario is a conman and the fame often comes at an excessively high price. She also meets Piotr once again whom she does not tell about her lack of success. When the truth surfaces the young couple reconcile. Even though they both finally get a chance to become successful, they resign from it to come back to Poland together.

The film features great dancing performance by Krystyna Mazurówna and Gerard Wilk, world famous performers. Mazurówna was also the author of choreography for Bareja’s film.

A large part of the film was shot in authentic Paris scenery.
