A bitter story of the unfulfilled love between a Polish girl and a Soviet pilot, presented with the use of the dual timeline technique.
Due to the fog, a Soviet plane is grounded at the Warsaw airport. The pilot Wowa accepts his Polish friend’s invitation to go with him to his sister’s wedding. The ceremony takes place in the area which Wowa knows from the times of the war. This is where he was shot down by Germans as a young pilot. Polish peasants gave him shelter and Wowa and their daughter Urszula fell in love with each other. The war separated the lovers and Wowa’s later attempts to find the girl failed. Suddenly, the Russian learns that Urszula is alive.
