A young journalist from a Warsaw newspaper has to confront a gang of motorcyclists called “Pięć i pół bladego Józka” (“Five-And-A-Half Of Little Pale Joe”), who terrorize the residents of a small town. His intrepid character and heroism win him the respect and recognition of the group.
In his articles the editor Tadeusz Rusin uses letters sent by residents of the town of Kamienica. They write about a group of bikers who terrorize the local area. Tadeusz decides to check the information himself and goes to the town. On the spot he learns that there are no vacancies in the hotel. Soon he meets the bikers. He is beaten up by them when he tries to defend a boy harassed by them. Tadeusz is rescued by Katarzyna. He organizes a meeting with the residents of Kamienica. He wants to reach the gang. Katrzyna gives him lessons in martial arts. Together with her he stages a break-in to the local department store. This deed wins him the recognition of the majority of the group. However, the boss remains suspicious. He is also jealous about Katarzyna. A fire breaks out in the warehouse where the gang keeps their bikes. One of the gang members is inside. Tadeusz saves his life, in result of which the others accept him as their friend. Riding on their motorbikes, the whole group, together with Katarzyna, bids farewell to Tadeusz who goes back to Warsaw.
Made in a ballad convention, the film was stopped by censorship and was never screened in movie theaters.
