of Platinum Lions for lifetime achievements at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia 2009.
He was Deputy Art Director of Kadr Film Studio between 1984 and 1987.

An adaptation of Jerzy Szczygieł’s novel with Wojciech Kilar’s magnificent score.

Outstanding performance by Kazimierz Fabisiak as the Priest, supported by the rising stars
of Polish cinema - Zbigniew Cybulski and Elżbieta Czyżewska.

The story of a homeless boy that loses his eyesight when playing with a dud. A rumor arises in town, that the boy wanted to kill the Priest because he had a feud with him and the accident was divine punishment. The boy is persecuted by the local society and the old Priest – the only man knowing the truth is silent. He sees an opportunity in the rumors, to create a myth around him, to support his importance in a time when he feels weak.

A psychological and moral drama, taking on human loneliness, intolerance and indifference.
A bitter story about society’s cruelty based on psychological observation and rich in innuendos.
