A screening of Marek Hłasko’s short story, which became legendary still before it hit the cinema screens. It spent 25 years on a shelf due to censorship as it offers a credible illustration of the world of the 50s, void of morals and full of scorn towards any values.
Warsaw, the late 50s. A couple: Piotr and Agnieszka have no place to live. She lives with her parents, a brother who’s an alcoholic and a undertenant whose house has collapsed. Piotr does everything to find any place to live, unfortunately in vain, which makes Agnieszka increasingly despaired. When Piotr eventually gets a flat, it turns out that Agnieszka, having given up on them, had an affair with a journalist she met coincidentally.
