A submarine under the lead of captain Adam Hulewicz is stuck at the bottom of the sea due to the negligence of one of the crew members. During the rescue action the commander makes unemotional decisions in line with the regulations despite putting the lives of a few sailors at risk. His behavior triggers defiance of his deputy and a part of the crew. Launching an emergency procedure allows the submarine to return to the surface, however the incident is subject of internal investigation. Hulewicz is cleared of charges, yet due to his poor health he can no longer be the commander of the vessel.
