The film owes its success to its action that’s full of tension and unexpected twists, its ingenious multi-plot intrigue, superb acting and exceptional execution.
The last role of Zbigniew Cybulski, an iconic actor who died a tragic death and whose extraordinary roles have gone down in history of worldwide cinematography. He was an artist awarded with Super Golden Duck for the best actor in the history of the Polish cinema. As Cybulski died before post sync was recorded, his character is dubbed by Tadeusz Łomnicki.
The last days of World War II. A partisan unit of Major Lotar that joined the Polish People’s Army takes control over the Gestapo headquarters where the Germans keep a file with personal details of their informants. Even though the building is closely guarded the file disappear and the prosecutor responsible for this case is murdered. Lotar and his people try to find the murderer. The case gets even more complicated, the leads multiply, one of the suspects is a lone avenger, one a local photographer and one of Lotar’s partisans. The truth that surfaces during the final reconstruction of events surprises everybody.
