The adventures of a young couple after they get a new apartment to which a shrewd con-man keeps moving his victims into. Wanda and Jan are crammed in an old villa room and dreaming of owning their own apartment. One day Malinowski turns up and offers to swap apartments. They agree, but the beautiful dream quickly changes into a nightmare. Hilarity ensues as more and more tenants constantly appear.
Polish title, "There is no rose without a fire" comes from two mixed proverbs: "There is no rose without thorns" and "There is no smoke without a fire".
