Continuation of the story of Hanusz and Cossack Semen, for whom the mysterious diamond “Oko Proroka” (“The Eye of the Prophet”) turned out not to be a gift, but a curse.
The 17th century. The inn run by the Bystry family is destroyed by the Tatars. Seeking help, Hanusz goes to Tarnów, where he meets his friend Semen Bedryszko, who was arrested on false charges. Hanusz sets the Cossack free, thus himself turning into a criminal. When he learns about his father’s death, he goes with Bedryszko to Sich, and then to Bulgaria, at that time occupied by Turks. The aim of their dangerous expedition is to free Semen’s father, who is held captive by the Turks. On the way they win new allies, i.e. Father Benignus and a mysterious Mongolian warrior who has extraordinary skills.
