A psychological drama about disappearance of interpersonal relations and intensification of egoism and indifference.
A small village lies between the sea and the lake. During fishing, only women and children stay there. Old cobbler Filip gets bitten by a viper. An old shell explodes, seriously wounding little Madzia. The ambulance is not coming; accessing the village by car is practically impossible. The vacationers have a motorboat, but they refuse to help. The old man decides to transport the girl in his boat. Exhausted, he manages to get them to the other side. Unfortunately, it is too late for Madzia, who is pronounced dead by the doctor. Filip takes her back to the village in his boat.
