Kingsize

(Kingsajz)

1987   >   fairytale comedy

A feature film by Juliusz Machulski, director, screenwriter and producer, recipient of many Polish and international film festival awards.

One of the first Polish full feature fantasy films. Cult scenography, still possible to see today
in the Museum of Cinematography in Łódź.

Unique roles by  Jacek Chmielnik, Katarzyna Figura and Jerzy Stuhr. The unforgettable „erotic” scene of a dwarf exploring a female body.

The dwarfs live amongst people thanks to the drug called kingsajz. Thanks to its effect they can reach our height. Due to an unfortunate coincidence, one of the people a friend of a Dwarf is shrunk and taken to Szuflandia. There, King Kilkujadek imprisons him. His friends set out
on a journey to Szuflandia rescue him.

A fairy-tale comedy making use of fabulist traditions and fantasy - a new film genre. A satire aimed at the totalitarian regime with metaphoric lands – the radiant Kingsajz opposing the ugly Szuflandia.
