A film by renowned film director Kazimierz Kutz, who made the famous Silesian Trilogy. Kutz won a number of industry awards, including the Platinum Lions Award for lifetime achievement at the 34th Polish Feature Film Festival in Gdynia.
A film report styled after a documentary, where the main plot serves as an excuse for portrayal of contemporary Poland and interpersonal relations.
Published in the newspaper “Kurier Polski”, a report titled “Whoever knows of her whereabouts” by outstanding journalist Krzysztof Kąkolewski provided the inspiration for the film. Kąkolewski co-wrote the script for the movie and had a cameo appearance in it as a committee member.
A young woman contacts an anonymous journalist. She asks him for assistance in finding her sister, who went missing. The man agrees to help. Over time, he gets more and more involved in the case. He finds out more about the missing woman’s friends and acquaintances, visits her apartment, workplace and family members. In the course of the journalistic investigation, the image of a desperately lonely, sensitive and depressed woman emerges. She seemed to have severed ties with her people in the name of social advancement, but failed to find her feet in a new reality. Sadly, any new information fails to cast light on the matter and the trail gets cold. The journalist’s report is rejected.
