(Kobieta i kobieta)

1979   >   psychological/ drama

A psychological study of two women with completely different personalities and temperaments, both of a high social status which they achieved at the expense of sacrifices and failures in their private lives.

After graduation, two friends, Barbara and Irena, start working in the clothing industry. Introduction of a new technology in the factory triggers a conflict among the staff. Barbara tries to put an end to the disputes and quarrels. The new technology was invented by Irena's lover Domagalski, who wants to set the crew against Barbara. Eventually, the woman quits her job, with her place taken by Irena. Despite her intimate relations with Domagalski, Irena reveals his scam. This, however, fails to save her friendship with Barbara and they lose contact with each other. After many years, they meet unexpectedly. Barbara is a city mayor, while Irena runs a big factory, but their private lives are in shambles. They become friends again.
