The film director - Halina Bielińska had not been even aware that her picture had been enrolled in the competition until she heard about her success.

Ania, a typical contemporary teenager, grapples with adolescence-related problems. Coincidentally, she breaks down an ancient clock, as a result of which, she is taken back 80 years in time. She encounters 19th century versions of her parents and friends. Ania cannot accept the rules and conventions of the past epoch. Her behavior causes scandals all the time. The character desperately longs to come back to her times, however she manages to do that only when she finds happiness in the arms of a beloved man. The challenging journey to the past proves a valuable experience, which Ania can later profit from.
A great performance by Elżbieta Czyżewska, who, at the age of 24, convincingly played the 16-year-old character.
The film perfectly conveys the epoch’s atmosphere, the costumes were designed based on historical sources including information found in archive issues of female magazines.
