A drama of a woman who by making a conscious decision about another man’s death or life condemns herself to constant feeling of guilt and tormenting remorse.
Dorota works as a nurse in a hospital. She loves Michał and plans to marry him. In the past she had an affair with the director of the hospital – Malecki. As a result of a car accident Michał and his boss become seriously injured. There’s only one ampule of medicine. Malecki tells Dorota to administer half of the dose to both victims. Dorota makes a choice. She injects Michał the whole dose. The other injured person dies. She is tormented by remorse she can’t cope with. She dumps Michał and marries Malecki. After many years Michał finds out the truth about why he survived. Dorota decides to leave her husband and be alone.
