Smell of the Dog's Fur

(Zapach psiej sierści)

1982   >   drama/ action

The last film of Jan Batory, director of the picture "O dwóch takich, co ukradli księżyc" and the TV series „Karino”.

Adaptation of the novel by Wojciech Żukrowski, an incredibly popular writer, author of over 160 books translated into 16 languages.

Exceptional music by Włodzimierz Nahorny combines subtle and ambient motives with strong, electrical sounds of the Fender piano, Moog synthesizer and electric guitar.

The leading roles are played by Roman Wilhelmi, one of the most universal Polish actors: the unforgettable Nikodem Dyzma and the janitor Stanisław Anioł from the iconic TV series “Alternatywy 4”.

An action film featuring a love story set in the entrancing scenery of the Black Sea coast.

During his holidays in Bulgaria, a Polish sculptor – Paweł has an affair with a much younger German – Heidi. Accidentally, the man discovers a drug trafficking route. Possessed by greed, the character steals one of the parcels and later demands money from the smugglers for returning it. He is relentless and refuses to give in even when the bandits kidnap Heidi, who – for him - is just a casual acquaintance. The criminals set the girl free, however they reveal Paweł’s secrets to her. The girl, who is genuinely in love with the Pole, has a tough decision to make.
