Ferry To Sweden

(Prom do Szwecji)

1980   >   criminal/action

The story set is around the late ‘70s art smugglers. The militia coordinate a sting operation, successfully busting the criminals.

Szczepan Zadra lives in Sweden. He’s a Pole, he keeps in touch with his countrymen. He works as a sales rep for an international shipping company. Meanwhile the Polish militia are notified of precious icons being smuggled to Sweden on a regular basis. Szczepan meets Agata who is on a work trip to Sweden. She’s helping an antique dealer from Warsaw by bringing a small package. She’s unaware it contains a precious icon. After learning of a painting in Surołazy that is supposedly by Raphael, Zadra sets out to Poland. Once there, he and his associates steal the painting. The militia soon finds out and notifies border crossings.  Zadra panics before reaching one, turns back and breaks the speed limit. The police manhunt ends in apprehending the smuggler.
